Into Darkness (Whitsborough Chronicles Book 2) Page 10

I watch as he gets up onto his knees and drops his boxers. His cock stands straight and the piercing at the tip glints in the light. My stomach begins to burn again as I feel my arousal renewed. He comes down on top of me, his arms caging me in on either side of my head. His mouth hits mine and I sign into him, finally his mouth is devouring mine, our tongues battling for dominance. I feel his cock nudge my entrance and I moan as I lift my hips to meet his and in one thrust he is seated deep inside me.

“You’re so fucking tight, Ember. Squeeze my cock, baby.”

My pussy automatically clamps down with his instruction and I lock my legs around his waist urging him to move. He groans deep in his throat and starts to slide in and out. I need more so I dig my heels into his lower back and pick up the pace. He chuckles into my ear and starts to slam into me. Finally, this is how I like it. I hear how wet I am as his balls slap off my ass. Then he slides his hands under my ass and tilts my hips just right, when he starts pumping into me I feel his piercing drag along my G-spot and I instantly know how messy this is about to get. Because if I know one thing it’s that Vin knows how to make me gush.

As per usual, he doesn’t disappoint, my skin erupts with intense pleasure and I begin to feel the evidence slide down my ass crack and into the bed. He pumps right on through it, the loud, wet sucking noises the only thing reverberating off these bedroom walls. After that orgasm, I am spent and Vin follows soon after with a satisfied moan as he shoots his load deep inside me.

“Let’s clean up and change these sheets or else we’ll be soaked through.” He chuckles, always so smug when he makes me come like that.

I wake up early Saturday morning and start on making this lasagna. I need it to look and smell amazing. Carm has come through with my request for sleeping pills, and this will help me out with step one of the plan, make the piece of shit sleepy as fuck before he takes his evening dip. I crush those up and mix it into the cheese that I will top on it as it comes out of the oven.

As the lasagna bakes I head into the bedroom and dress in my usual black attire. Vin is laying on the bed watching. “So, first I go drop this lasagna off to him and say it’s a new friendly neighbour thing?” He raises a brow, “isn’t that backwards? He should be bringing me a case of fucking beer or something. What if he doesn’t want it?”

“It’ll work, and if it doesn’t, shove a piece down his throat.”

“What?” He sits up looking at me with his eyebrows raised.

“I’m kidding, I always have a back up plan.” I really do, although this one is ‘think of a backup plan on the fly’.

He drops back down onto his back and continues watching as I dress in black leggings and a black hoodie to hide my knife inside. “Can I see that knife?” He asks. I toss it onto the bed and he picks it up, pulling it out of the sheath. He whistles as he holds it up to the light.

  “This is sharp.” He breathes.

“Sure is. I’ve cut fingers off with that.”

“What?” He asks and immediately drops the knife to the bed.

I don’t bother to answer and give him a shrug. I pull the face makeup out of my bag and sit on the counter inside the bathroom. As I am applying the full white all over, Vin steps in. His eyes grow wide and his mouth turns down.

“I can’t have anyone seeing my face.” I state as I start to colour in the skull parts with black eye shadow.

“It’s like the skulls on your knife.”

“Yeah, Los Muertos, it’s actually a part of my heritage, funnily enough.” I look at him through the mirror, “so is the knife.”

I continue with applying the makeup and he watches silently, perched on the toilet seat. The timer on the stove goes off and it signals the start of our plan. We both head out to the kitchen and pull the dish out of the oven. I coat the top with freshly shredded cheddar mixed with the sleeping pills and watch as it melts into the dish. I can’t even tell there’s powder in there. Then I set it on the counter to cool for a bit and pace the living room. My energy is flying high as adrenalin starts coursing through me.

“The master bedroom window opens outward and I’ve pulled out the screen. It’s a bit of a stretch but you should be able to reach his balcony. I will help you, and then you just pull yourself over.” He says, standing next to me, “what happens when you get over there?”

“We know there are no cameras on the balconies up here because we don’t have one. But there are cameras in the hallways. The cops will see you dropping off that lasagna to him. So, we have to be prepared for questioning.”

“How are you doing it, Em?” He grabs my arm to stop the pacing.

“Trust me, I have a plan.” I don’t, but I don’t want him worried any further.

He nods and stalks forward to grab the lasagna off the counter and heads directly out the door. I rush to the door and stick my foot in the doorway so it doesn’t close and I can hear the conversation. I hear Vin’s quick knock on the door and I wait, holding my breath.

“Hey man, I just moved in and thought I’d bring over a neighbourly dish of pasta.” Vin says, his forced pleasantness almost making me snort.

“Robert Greene sold his condo?” The man asks, his voice a deep baritone sounding cold and calculating.

“No man, I’m his son. Robert passed away, cancer.” Vin bleeds some sadness into his voice and I thank my stars he’s a fucking actor.

“No way. Shit, I’m so sorry to hear that. Look, Robert and I were friends, we’ve helped each other out quite a bit.” I’m sure you did, dickface. “If you need anything, I’m just right across the hall. And thanks for this man, you didn’t have to.”

“I love to cook, so yeah, I hope you like lasagna.” Vin sniffs, I can only imagine his eyes are filled with fake tears, too. “And thanks for the offer, I don’t know anyone here yet.”

“Lasagna? No way! That’s my favourite.” I hear the crinkle of tin foil, “wow, this looks great. I’ll pop over tomorrow with something for you as well.”

“Alright, thanks again man. Have a great night.”

  “I will now.”

I hear the click of a door and Vin’s footsteps back to our condo. I pull open our door and step back as he enters. “It’s a good thing my father befriended every corrupt individual in New York, makes this shit easier.” He mumbles as he heads off into our bedroom.

“True that.” I follow behind him.

The plan is to wait for about twenty minutes, then to make my way onto his balcony. We both sit by the open window and listen for when this guy starts his ritual Saturday soak.

“Fuck, your face is creepy, I don’t even recognize you.” He says, his eyes roaming over my face.

“That’s the point.” I smile wide.

“Have you used this face before?”

  “One other time.” I admit.

  “I see.”

We hear the balcony door sliding open from our piece of shit neighbour and listen as he fires up his hot tub. He’s muttering about how fucking good lasagna is and how he’s ‘going to buy that kid a fucking carton full of wine’. Then the sounds of old school R&B hits our ears.

“Ugh, I’m so creeped out by this weirdo.” I shudder. Pony by Ginuwine filters through to our window and I gag dramatically as Vin chuckles. I hear the guy lower himself down into the hot tub with a sigh. He must literally be right beside us.

“I’m so god damned tired, fuck,” the guy mutters, “must be those two pieces of lasagna.”

Shit, he ate two pieces. That’s like four pills equivalent or a fucking quarter of that dish. He really does like lasagna.

“I should get over there now, before he passes out.” I tell Vin.

I pull my body out onto the window ledge and look down, it’s a good thing I’m not afraid of heights because we are up thirty floors. People are still walking along the sidewalks looking like little ant colonies from up here. I look straight ahead and see the Empire State Building in all its fucking glo
ry as the dark clouds move across the skyline covering the iridescent moon.

I look to my right and see his balcony just within reaching distance, I will have to shuffle over about two steps to get a good grip on it. The balcony is all glass so I see the hot tub against the balcony and him laying in it with his back to me. He still hasn’t fallen asleep because now he’s singing along to some Ashanti and Ja Rule song, albeit a little sluggishly.

I shuffle the few steps and Vin is halfway out the window with his hand wrapped around my ankle. I look over at him, blow him a kiss and watch as his mouth stretches wide in a grin. I’m going to sit on that mouth when I get back.

I drop my sleeves down over my hands because you can’t leave prints anywhere, and even though this gives me less grip, it’s a necessary risk. I grab onto the balcony railing and step up onto the ledge. He still can’t see me because his back is against my front but at this angle I can see everything on this balcony. His hot tub is a four-seater, quaint and cozy and he has a table on either side, made from some fancy looking stained glass. His balcony floor is covered with that fake grass shit to mimic being in a backyard and he has an old school CD player plugged into an extension cord coming from inside his condo. This is where the outdated tunes are coming from.

I look to the fucker just as he lays his head back and his eyes are closed, if he opens them he will have a clear view of me and all my glory standing over him. I reach into my hoodie pocket and finger the knife there; I’m hoping I don’t have to use it. I need this not to be a crime scene.

He keeps his eyes closed and his head starts swaying softly as he murmurs the words to the crappy ass song he’s listening to now. I roll my eyes and slowly shuffle along the edge until I come to a spot that’s clear for me to pull myself over. He doesn’t even flinch as my feet hit the balcony ‘grass’. I take in the scene before me and figure out my options. There are definitely no cameras that I can see and he has this hot tub and a patio set with a barbeque out here and that’s it. An idea starts to form as I stare at him laying in the tub.

“Huh?” He’s looking at me as he tries to sit up in the tub. “I feel so heavy, who are you? Am I dreaming?”

I don’t answer him as I walk closer to the edge of the tub. His eyes are drooping and heavy and he has some drool starting to roll down his chin. Number one rule: Never get into a hot tub after taking sleeping pills. ‘Killing me softly’ by the Refugees starts playing and I snort at the coincidence.

His head falls back against the edge again and I hear faint snores as he falls asleep. With my hands still covered by the sweater I lay one on top of the CD player and give it a good shove. The CD player hits the water and I watch as sparks fly. Ron’s body starts convulsing and his eyes snap open. The veins on his neck and forehead stand protruding and his skin becomes deathly pale. The whites of his eyes slowly bleed red as blood vessels burst open and his lips pull back across his clenched teeth. As quick as it started, it’s done and he lays there floating on his back with his bloody gaze to the sky. I see the electric arcs still dancing on the waters edge, so I am mindful of not touching any part of the hot tub as I pull myself back over the railing and shuffle along the edge.

As soon as I am back in front of our window, Vin reaches out and grabs me around the waist, then he pulls me inside and his mouth lands on mine in a punishing kiss. He pulls away and his face is lined with white and black makeup.

  “Everything go okay?” He asks.

  “Swimmingly.” I grin.

Thankfully that night with the darkness sated once more, I sleep without any haunting images of deadbeat fathers and cut off fingers.

The next morning, we get a pounding on the front door. I groan and unwrap a sleeping Ember from my body and throw on some sweats. I get to the door and open it wide to two police officers.

“Sorry to wake you, sir.” The one on the right says, “we were wondering if you had heard anything on this floor last night?”

  “Heard anything?” I repeat.

“Yes, there was an accident in the condo next door.” The left one answers.

“Accident? Like what? Is that guy okay?”

  “You knew him?” Right asks.

“He was my neighbour, I introduced myself last night.” I run my hand down my face, “are we not safe here? What has happened?”

“He had an accident in the hot tub last night. Your neighbour is deceased.” Left answers.

“What kind of accident? I thought this building was safe.” I start to mutter, playing my part.

“Sir, it looks to be just an accident on the victim’s part, not anything to do with the building.”

“Okay, is there something I can do?” I ask.

“No sir, you’ve answered all the questions we have.” He nods, “please try to enjoy the rest of your day.”

I nod and step back inside to close my door. After the door is shut I lean against it and let out a breath. When I look up Em is standing there wrapped up in a sheet from our bed.

  “Clear?” She whispers.

  “Yeah, baby.”

Her phone pings with a message from the kitchen counter. She walks over to it and opens it up. A grin forms on her face and she looks back to me.

“Carm says it’s all over the news, tragic accident, DA dies in hot tub.” She shakes her head slowly, “and he says for me to come by to get my payment.”

  I nod.

“Is it weird that I didn’t discuss payment?” She asks.

  “Yeah, baby.”

She smirks and skips-yes, she fucking skips-back to the bedroom.

We pull up to the compound and before we can enter we are both being patted down by two guys. I have nothing on me but they find the knife in Ember’s hoodie pocket. When the one guy tries to remove it, she shoves the palm of her hand into his nose and I hear a crunch, then she grabs the guy’s hand that was in her pocket and snaps that back, too.

At this point, I am worried about my own sanity because during this whole encounter I’ve grown so fucking hard, the zipper of my jeans is cutting into my dick. I watch as she looks at the guy writhing on the ground and then flicks her eye to the other dude.

  “Problem?” She asks him.

“No Miss Torres, he shouldn’t have done that.”

She nods and leads us both inside. I am starting to notice that she no longer corrects anyone when they refer to her as a Torres. Like she’s accepted what and who she is. It makes no fucking difference to me, if she starts calling herself Big Bird all of a sudden she would still be mine. I like Ember tough and I like that I don’t have to watch her back like a regular girl. My girl can fight and she’s been doing it for so long that she no longer has to tactically plan her moves, it’s like breathing for her. Most guys would feel useless, emasculated even, but I know what I’m capable of and until she needs my help, I’m willing to watch her sexy ass take care of herself.

We enter the elevator and Em pounces on me. I chuckle against her mouth and pull on her hair to expose her throat to me. Then I lick my way up to her ear and flick it with my tongue ring. Her moan is so load it vibrates off the elevator walls. I grab her thigh and pull it up to hook around my waist and grind my hard dick into her center.

“This is just gross,” I hear a voice full of disdain, “that’s my fucking twin.”

“Turn away,” I growl back, “I’m about to fuck your ‘fucking twin’.” Ember moans and grinds into me harder, my mouth always gets her worked up.

  “Guys! Come on.” Emmett groans.

Ember pulls back with a snicker and rubs her hand over the bulge in my jeans. Then she turns around, grabbing my hand and leading me out. Emmett looks at me with a glare and I toss him a wink. There’s nothing anyone could ever do to pull me off of her, if I really wanted to, I’d fuck her here on the floor just to prove my fucking point.

I stay behind as Ember goes into Carm’s office, I lean against the wall and fold my arms over my ches
t.

“Hey, do you like motorcycles?” Emmett asks me.

  “Yeah.” I nod.

“Come see what I got myself for my birthday, Bro.” He grins.

I shrug and follow him to a huge set of steel double doors. He leads me inside and towards a candy red Ducati. I chuckle because this is the exact same colour as Em’s car. They really do have a lot in common.

  “Ducati.” I whistle.

“A Ducati Panigale V4.” He breathes caressing the seat.

  “Engine?”

  “A 1,103-cc desmodromic 90-degree V4.” He says nodding.

“I don’t know what any of that means,” Ember says sidling up beside me, “but that sure is a pretty colour.”

I chuckle and pull her in to my side to kiss her head. “It’s the same colour as your car.” I say with a grin.

  “Yeah, it is!” She exclaims.

  “Really?” Emmett’s eyes light up.

“Yeah. You should come see it.” She nods.

“Yeah, I should. What kind of car?” He asks her.

  “Shelby!”

  “It’s a 1967 Mustang convertible. GT500KR.” I answer for her.

“Shit, seriously? How the fuck did you get your hands on that?” Emmett asks her.

“Our uncle is so fucking cool.” She nods and I nod as well because Scott is fucking golden.

“I’d like that.” He says quietly.

“Come next weekend, you and Carm.” She says excitedly, “you can meet Adri and Travis, too.”

“That’s not a bad idea, we could rent a hotel suite for the weekend and maybe I can find out who the new head is for Toronto.” Carm says, looking to me. “You sure you don’t know who it is Ember?”

  “I’m sure.” She nods.

“Okay,” Emmett grins. “Let’s go to Whitsborough next weekend.”

I am one-hundred-thousand-dollars richer, that’s the going rate for an accidental looking assassination. I tried to give Vin half but he looked at me like I was losing my mind, so fuck him. And I did, on top of a pile of one-hundred-dollar bills.
